MVFD was founded in 1981 and is the first responder for emergencies in an especially challenging area just to the west of Sonoma Valley. The terrain is vast—over 7200 acres; steep—rising from 300’ on the valley floor to over 2,300’ in just five miles of roadway, making access difficult and time consuming; prone to extremes in weather—drought in the summer and fall, with the heightened risk of fire; no reliable source of year-round water; and storms in the winter
We have two fire stations:
Station 1 is located at the intersection of Trinity and Cavedale Roads
Station 2 is located on Cavedale road, 5 miles from highway 12 and 2 miles from station 1
We currently have 10 volunteer firefighters that are fully trained to state firefighting standards. We have 4 fire trucks. We are always looking for people interested in becoming volunteer fire fighters - please email us at info@mayacamasvfd.org if you are interested!
MVFD Board meetings are open to the public and occur on the second Monday of each month at 7pm. They are held at Station 1
